Have you ever been halfway through a book and known that it was going to be your new favorite read?
That’s how I felt reading my first Kennedy Ryan book. I’ll admit, I didn’t know much about this book going into it. I won it in a giveaway and finally decided to pick it up and see what all the hype was about.
And I’m so glad I did.
The entire book was a rollercoaster of emotions. On paper, Lennix and Maxim are so different, but they worked so well together. As fate would have it, Lennix and Maxim’s paths cross in the most random way, and from that moment they begin on a path that changes their lives forever.
It was so amazing how strongly I felt the emotions of our main characters. Despite their paths taking them in different directions and spending more days apart than together, they loved each other from the moment they met and it somehow grew stronger and stronger as the years went on.
I laughed and cried and yelled while reading this book. My recommendation is that you have the second book, The Rebel King, ready to go immediately because I almost lost it at the end. It took me 7 hours in one sitting to read this book start to finish.
I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a heartbreaking, second-chance, forbidden, opposites attract book. And if you’re like me and this is your first Kennedy Ryan book, welcome <3
