King of Wrath

I’m a sucker for interconnected stand-alone series, so when an author pulls side characters from one series to create an entire new series that exists in the same universe, you don’t ask questions, you just buy the book and immerse yourself back in the fictional world they created.

King of Wrath is book one in the new series, Kings of Sin, which if read in the proper order should come after you’ve binged the entire Twisted series. In this book we are met with our male main character Dante Russo who is introduced in Twisted Lies (Twisted #4) and his fiance Vivan Lau. The small glance we get from them shows readers their engagement isn’t what it seems to be and boy do we get to the bottom of it in their story.

Blackmail is tricky business and when you mix your business with your personal life, things are bound to get messy. Dante quickly figures that out when he’s forced into an engagement he never wanted. His carefully curated lifestyle did not have marriage in the picture and it doesn’t help that his new fiance is the daughter of said blackmailer. It also doesn’t help that she is quickly tearing down the walls he carefully put up between them and that the control he’s so used to doesn’t seem to exist around her.

Author Ana Huang never seems to miss when it comes to writing about rich, possessive men who only have eyes for one person and I never miss the add to cart button when I’m per-ordering her next book. I completely gobbled this book up from start to finish and happily added Dante to my long list of ‘fictional men I wish were real’.

This book has all the recommendations from me and if you haven’t read this book yet, you are missing out. Make sure to read it before the next book in the series, King of Pride comes out on April 27th!
